Elmax powder steel knives
Uddeholm Elmax — one of the best tool
powder steels with high corrosion resistance. It is produced by
the Austrian-Swedish concern Böhler-Uddeholm using the technology of powder
metallurgy of the third generation (superclean), which means increased
purity and viscosity, as well as small carbides that contribute to
very efficient cutting. Due to the high content of
chromium (18%) and molybdenum (1%) in the composition of the alloy, ELMAX steel is very well suited for
making cutting parts of tools from it. Elmax Steel
it is not capricious in sharpening, it holds it for a long time. With high-quality
heat treatment, it always surpasses analogues in viscosity, it is resistant to the
external environment. Such a complex of properties provides
excellent properties for knives and blades made of it. Of the closest analogues, we can note
the CPM S30V steel. The characteristic operating range of the blade hardness of Elmax:
59-62 HRc.
